Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Lead to join our Accounting team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in accounts payable who's ready to take the next step into a leadership role. The Accounts Payable Lead will oversee daily AP operations, ensure accuracy and timeliness of vendor payments, and help drive process improvements across the department. This position is on-site located at our Saint Petersburg, HQ.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day accounts payable operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Review, process, and approve invoices, credit memos, and expense reports.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with all departments to ensure proper documentation and coding of purchases.
- Monitor payment schedules to maintain positive vendor relationships and optimize cash flow.
- Assist in month-end closing activities and prepare AP reports as needed.
- Support the implementation of process improvements and automation initiatives.
- Train and mentor AP staff, providing guidance on best practices and issue resolution.
- Other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
- 23 years of experience in Accounts Payable or a related accounting function.
- Strong understanding of general accounting principles and AP procedures.
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Demands
- Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods while working at a computer.
- Frequent use of hands and fingers for data entry, document handling, and computer operation.
- Ability to occasionally lift, carry, or move items up to 15 pounds (such as files, boxes of documents, or office supplies).
- Regular communication with team members and vendors, requiring clear verbal and written communication skills.
- Work is performed primarily in an office setting with occasional movement throughout the facility.
