Job Description Summary
The Annual Giving Officer (AGO) plays a vital role in fostering a culture of philanthropy and increasing donor participation to the Bentley Fund through strategic, relationship-based fundraising. The AGO is responsible for managing a portfolio of prospects focused on discovery, renewal and upgrades. Reporting to the Director of Annual Giving, this position will play a key role in securing new donors and growing Bentley's donor pipeline.The successful AGO utilizes data, AI and other technology to evaluate and prioritize a portfolio of 400+ individuals. Collaboration is highly valued across the university and especially with University Advancement colleagues including other frontline staff and teams in Alumni & Family Engagement, Donor Relations, and Prospect Research.
Essential Duties
- Manage a portfolio of approximately 400+ annual fund prospects with a focus on retention, upgrades, and discovery of Bentley Fund donors
- Develop and implement strategies to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward annual donors
- Conduct 150-175 donor meetings annually
- Prepare contact reports in a timely manner and execute appropriate next steps
- Collaborate with colleagues across departments including Major Gifts, Office of Alumni & Family Engagement, Advancement Communications, Donor Relations, and Prospect Research to achieve both individual and divisional goals
- Attend and staff events which may require travel, evening, and weekend responsibilities
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices in annual giving and donor engagement
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with 1-2 years of relevant experience
- Positive and collaborative professional who is initiative-taking, results-oriented, enthusiastic, and able to make direct person-to-person solicitations
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Experience with and proficiency in CRM donor database usage and an intermediate command of the Microsoft 365 Suite
- Ability to organize and complete multiple tasks simultaneously with close attention to detail and prioritization to meet deadlines
- Demonstration of a strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in a value-driven organization
- Interact professionally and maintain confidentiality
- Must hold and maintain a valid, unrestricted US driver's license, with an insurable driving history as determined by Bentley's insurance carrier
Work Environment
- This role offers a flexible work arrangement, combining in-person attendance with remote work. On-site presence is required based on business needs, team collaboration, or scheduled meetings. Scheduling specifics will be determined in conjunction with the manager. As with any flexible arrangement, this is subject to change based on business needs
- AGO must be able to travel by car, plane and public transportation as position may require overnight and day travel
- Some weekend and evening duties are required

In alignment with the Massachusetts Pay Transparency Act and our commitment to equity and transparency, we're sharing the salary grade range for this role. The grade range is based on market data and the scope of responsibilities. Final pay will depend on your experience, education, and other relevant qualifications.
Salary Grade Range:
$67,960$113,126 per year
