Skills and Competencies
- Proficiency in full-stack development, including front-end technologies such as Angular, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, and back-end technologies such as Java, Spring, and Hibernate, to build and maintain web applications.
- 2-4+ years of professional software development experience.
- Solid understanding of software design principles, including Object-Oriented design and Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), for developing scalable, multi-tiered enterprise applications.
- Foundational knowledge of relational databases (e.g., SQL, Oracle) and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB) to contribute to the data layer of applications.
- Experience with build and dependency management tools such as Maven, and familiarity with containerization technologies including Docker and Kubernetes to support modern development practices.
- Business acumen with desired experience in a regulated environment, such as financial services, to understand and adhere to industry-specific requirements.
- Basic understanding of artificial intelligence concepts, with curiosity and enthusiasm for learning how AI tools can be used to improve processes and drive efficiency, along with an interest in responsible AI practices including risk management and ethical use.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is required; a Master's degree is a plus.
Responsibilities
Develop and enhance web applications by collaborating across UI, services, and database layers within a service-oriented architecture.
- Design, develop, and test new front-end and back-end features using Angular, Java, and related frameworks such as Spring and Hibernate, ensuring high-quality and robust code.
- Collaborate with Lead Engineers and internal users to define system requirements, contribute to technical design discussions, and align development with established architectural direction.
- Develop and maintain database components using SQL and NoSQL technologies, and integrate services within a multi-tiered, service-oriented architecture.
- Utilize build and dependency management tools to support efficient development, integration, and deployment processes.
About the Team
You will be part of a dynamic software engineering team focused on building and enhancing key web applications. The team works in a highly collaborative environment, partnering closely with business stakeholders and lead engineers to deliver innovative solutions built on a modern, service-oriented architecture. This is a hybrid role requiring presence in the Charlotte office two days per week.
For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $78,000.00 - $113,100.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Moody's also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
