POSITION TITLE: Athletic Director (.80 FTE) and Teacher (.20 FTE) 1.0 FTE
Teaching assignment will be based upon candidate endorsement
Continuing position to begin in the 2026-2027 school year
HOURS: 7 hr/day, 5 day/wk, 183 days per academic year (plus 22 extended days and stipend)
7:30 am - 3:00 pm plus afterschool and evening athletic evens
LOCATION: Arlington High School
SALARY: Salary range $76,197.00 - $149,051.00 (includes base and tri/enrichment)
$ 8,304.00 - $ 16,245.00 (22 extended days)
$ 4,116.00 - $ 8,242.00 (stipend for evening and weekend activities)
Based upon the 25/26 salary schedule (26/27 TBD) and dependent upon previous school district
experience, degrees, and post-baccalaureate college credits
REPORTS TO: Building Principal and Director of College and Career Readiness
BENEFITS: Employees anticipated to work 630 hours in a school calendar year may be eligible for Medical, Dental, Vision, Long-term Disability Insurance, Life Insurance, Pension, VEBA, and 403(b).
12 Sick Days and 2 Personal Days (based upon contracted FTE)
SUMMARY: The Athletic Director/Teacher serves a dual role, dedicating 80% of time to overseeing the school's 9-12 athletic program and 20% to classroom instruction. The Athletic Director ensures compliance with WIAA, District, and Title IX regulations while managing program operations, staff supervision, event coordination, facilities, budgeting, and student eligibility while promoting a culture of sportsmanship and safety. In the classroom, the individual delivers standards-based instruction, uses data to support student learning, and creates an inclusive, engaging environment. This position collaborates with staff, students, and families to support student success in both academics and athletics.
Requirements
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree or higher (preference for master’s degree in Sports/Athletic Administration, or related field)
Prior successful secondary teaching experience preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate with appropriate endorsement(s).
