JOIN CANNON as a CADD MANAGER - REMOTE. This position offers the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere in the United States or from one of our office locations: Irvine, Los Angeles, San Luis Obispo, Ventura, or Seattle.
CADD MANAGER JOB SUMMARY
The CADD Manager oversees all company-wide CADD operations, ensuring consistent standards, quality, and efficiency across all projects. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining CADD standards, managing productivity tools, leading training initiatives, and supervising the workflow and standards of CADD staff. The CADD Manager serves as the primary technical resource and liaison between engineering teams, project managers, and IT to optimize CADD performance and support continuous improvement.
CADD MANAGER JOB DUTIES
- Develops, implements, and maintains company-wide CADD standards and productivity tools.
- Continuously monitors and updates standards to ensure consistency and efficiency.
- Plans and executes improvements to CADD processes, methods, and workflows.
- Directs the development of new CADD routines and best practices to maximize utilization of staff and equipment.
- Oversees daily CADD operations and represents the office in firm-wide CADD initiatives.
- Coordinates with CADD Representatives, Engineers, and Project Managers to ensure seamless project integration.
- Works with the IT Manager in setting long-term goals, budgets, schedules, and priorities for the CADD department.
- Leads company-wide quality control for all CADD deliverables.
- Reviews and modifies drawings to maintain compliance with established standards.
- Supervises CADD personnel performance and provides regular evaluations and feedback.
- Trains new and existing CADD staff on Autodesk software, techniques, and company standards.
- Supports professional development through ongoing education and skill enhancement.
- Assists in recruiting and onboarding new CADD team members.
- Oversees maintenance of CADD systems, software updates, and electronic archives.
- Collaborates with IT to resolve technical issues and align system upgrades.
- Troubleshoots non-routine CADD problems and ensures optimal system performance.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline preferred (equivalent experience will be considered).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience supervising and maintaining CADD operations.
- Extensive proficiency with all Autodesk software.
- Expertise in AutoCAD and Civil 3D is required.
- Knowledge of GIS software such as Map 3D, InfraWorks, and ArcGIS is strongly preferred.
- Experience with Plant 3D, Navisworks, AutoCAD Electrical and Revit is a plus.
- Knowledge of LISP (List Processing Language) routines required.
- Experience with ticketing systems (ConnectWise or Autotask).
- Strong leadership, training, and quality control skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
