Hiring Salary Range: $142,521.60 – $157,102.40/Year
(starting salary will be within this range based upon qualifications)
OC San is currently looking to fill the role of a Construction Inspection Supervisor.
Under general direction, supervises, assigns, reviews, and participates in the work of staff responsible for providing construction inspection services and activities; ensures work quality and adherence to established policies and procedures; performs the more technical and complex tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility; provides technical support to engineering staff for design, constructability, and quality control review processes; and performs duties as assigned.
Specifically, this Construction Inspection Supervisor will be responsible for construction inspection services and activities including the inspection of plant, collection facility and permit connection construction contracts to ensure that construction, rehabilitation and installation is done in compliance with plans, specifications, contract provisions and regulatory requirements.
In addition, this person will support construction management project teams with inspection interface information; attend project and related meetings for problem solving support and input; review cost proposals, change orders, contractor changes, and plan clarifications; support engineering staff with technical and advisory assistance as necessary including reviewing requests for proposals, preliminary alignment, and design reports.
Other duties include providing contract administration services; writing field change orders and assisting with the writing of plan changes or clarifications; reviewing and ensuring legal inspection documentation for projects is accurate and complete; and ensuring that contract drawings are regularly updated to include contractor's changes, field change orders, plan clarifications, and plan changes by inspectors and contractors.
The ability to analyze problems, identify alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions and implement recommendations in support of goals is critical.
Requirements
Required:
High school diploma or G.E.D. supplemented by 60 semester units of coursework from college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education, in construction inspection, engineering, construction management, drafting, surveying, or a related field.
Six (6) years of progressively responsible work experience performing construction inspections of large public works projects, which may include two (2) years of lead or supervisory experience.
Valid California Class C Driver’s License
Desired:
Possession of certifications from ICC (International Code Council) or valid accepted industry certificates.
Detailed knowledge of general engineering, civil and mechanical trades.
Ability to multitask and compete projects in a timely, organized, and accurate manner.
Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
