Description
Position Summary:
The Level 1 Designer is a role intended for individuals beginning their professional careers in architecture or design. This position focuses on supporting project teams by documenting design ideas, contributing to presentations, and learning core digital and technical workflows. Architectural Designers work primarily in project teams of two to eight, led by a principal and/or project manager. Designer Level 1 is a position for developing professional who is expected to be an active learner and is engaged in the community outside the office. Experience/interest in higher education and historic or existing buildings is a plus.
Position repots to: Project Manager
Responsibilities
Document design and technical ideas created by team members.
Revise drawings and documents under guidance (e.g., incorporate redlines, update existing conditions, take field measurements).
Assist in preparing design presentations, including drawings, physical models, renderings, and reports.
Maintain submittal and construction administration logs.
Manage workflow with direction.
Follow digital file management protocols and office standards.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
Degree in architecture or a related field (B.S./B.A., or technical school background).
Beginning pursuit of professional accreditation.
Proficiency in graphic representation techniques.
Basic proficiency of BIM software, workflows, and content creation (Revit).
Familiarity with presentation software.
Knowledge of 3D software.
Ability to coordinate multiple digital tools to produce deliverables.
