Description
Plannera Pensions & Benefits (Plannera) is a purpose-driven, not-for-profit corporation stewarding more than $17 billion in assets on behalf of over 112,000 members across Saskatchewan extending to more than 900 employers, including provincial Crown corporations, municipalities, school divisions, and the Government of Saskatchewan.
Director, Private Investments
Shape the next chapter of one of Canada’s most innovative pension organizations.
The Opportunity to Lead and Build
As Director, Private Investments, you will lead the design, execution, and evolution of Plannera’s private markets strategy, overseeing sophisticated allocations across private equity, infrastructure, private credit, farmland, hedge funds, and co-investments. Working closely with the CIO, you will guide investment pacing, fund selection, due diligence, and manage relationships for two of Canada’s largest pension plans: the Public Employees Pension Plan (PEPP) and the Municipal Employees Pension Plan (MEPP).
This is an opportunity to lead from the front, combining strategic vision with hands-on portfolio leadership in an environment that values integrity, collaboration, and purpose. You’ll help shape the private markets platform of tomorrow while mentoring emerging talent, refining governance and reporting frameworks, and strengthening partnerships with world-class managers and consultants.
The Impact You’ll Make
At Plannera, your work directly shapes the retirement security of over 112,000 members. You’ll operate at national scale within a maturing, independent organization that prizes collaboration, insight, and long-term thinking.
Here, investment excellence is measured not only in returns, but in stewardship in how well you balance growth, risk, and purpose.
The Plannera Experience
- Impact with integrity: Every decision is made in service of members, not shareholders.
- Professional growth: Work alongside a respected CIO and executive team in an environment that prizes mentorship and lifelong learning.
- A culture built on purpose: Member Focused. People Centered. Results Driven.
