POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Operates, maintains, repairs, and installs various types of electronic equipment related to instrumentation radars, personal and mainframe computers and terminals, industrial measuring and control equipment, and robotic devices. Apply technical knowledge of electronics principles to diagnose malfunctions and restore equipment functionality. Utilizes FileMaker Pro and Microsoft software products to perform daily tasks.
Performs routine operations and maintenance tasks following detailed instructions, including operating electronic instrumentation equipment, replacing components and wiring circuits, repairing simple electronics, and taking test readings with instruments like digital multi-meters, signal generators, power meters, spectrum analyzers, and oscilloscopes. Ensures that instrumentation radars operate within OEM and support parameters before test support and ensures site records are maintained according to established procedures.
Receives technical guidance as needed from supervisors or higher-level technicians. Work is spot-checked for accuracy. Other duties as required. Effective communication and collaboration with supervisors, coworkers, government personnel, and other stakeholders is essential.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
The minimum qualifications include graduation from a two-year electronics training program or three years of relevant experience in the electronics field. A valid driver's license is required, and the selected applicant will undergo a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Desired qualifications include two years of experience troubleshooting RF issues in transmitters, receivers, RF cabling, antenna servo systems, and digital circuitry. The ideal candidate will also have knowledge of VME and IBM-compatible computers, peripherals, and software, as well as familiarity with computer networks and network troubleshooting.
