Job Title: Director/Executive Director/CIO of IT – Higher Education
Location: Wichita, Kansas (Full-Time, Onsite)
Job Summary
The Director/Executive Director/CIO of IT (final title will be subject to experience and education) will lead the institution’s technology strategy and IT operations to support academic, administrative, and student success initiatives. This role partners closely with institutional and OculusIT leadership to align technology services with campus goals, ensuring secure, reliable, and modern IT systems that enhance the overall learning and operational environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide onsite leadership and oversight of campus IT operations and service delivery.
Align IT strategy with institutional priorities to improve operational efficiency and the student/faculty experience.
Oversee infrastructure, enterprise systems, cybersecurity, and end-user support services.
Collaborate with institutional and OculusIT leadership to drive technology modernization and strategic initiatives.
Lead major IT projects, system upgrades, and campus technology initiatives.
Ensure strong governance, vendor management, and effective use of IT resources and budgets.
Requirements
Proven IT leadership and management experience at the assistant director level or above.
Strong understanding of higher education systems, infrastructure, and IT governance.
Experience leading enterprise technology initiatives and managing complex IT environments.
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Minimum bachelor’s degree in appropriate field (e.g. management, computer science, business, etc.), master’s degree is a plus.
