Overview
Eagleview, the leader in aerial imagery, is hiring a Field Systems Engineer I in Engineering. We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Field Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team in deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting custom, advanced imaging systems across various field environments. This is a hands-on role that blends IT systems expertise with mechanical, electrical, and software engineering.
We are a fast paced, energetic team driven by continuous process improvement. We're looking for motivated, organized, and independent team members. This position requires good communication skills and the ability to quickly pick up new technologies. The ideal candidate will bring experience in digital photography systems, electronics, and computer networks within Windows and Linux environments while being comfortable working independently in evolving field conditions. This role can require travel up to 75% of the time.
Responsibilities
- Assemble, install, and maintain custom camera systems and related imaging hardware using specialized tools and proprietary software.
- Provide technical support to troubleshoot issues and engineer solutions for imaging systems. Communicate with stakeholders to define and isolate issues and deliver technical solutions.
- Document bugs, solutions, and updates to technical documentation.
- Diagnose and repair system issues and replace critical system components in the field.
- Create diagnostic tools and processes.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, and Support teams to continuously improve tools, and procedures.
- Provide training and guidance to team members and technical staff.
- Utilize CAD software and other modeling tools to develop and improve mechanical components and communicate conceptual designs to stakeholders.
- Work from the main office during non-travel weeks during regular business hours.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 75%, often on short notice.
Qualifications
- Two-year or four-year degree in a technical or engineering discipline (e.g., electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science), or equivalent professional experience.
- Proficiency with both Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Working knowledge of network configuration, troubleshooting, and hardware setup.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with team members and documenting field activities.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to consistent, high-quality work in both routine and high-pressure environments.
- High degree of adaptability and comfort working in a fast-paced, evolving landscape with developing procedures.
- Ability to lift and move up to 75 pounds and work in constrained or confined spaces.
Preferred
- Familiarity with the principles of digital photography and hands-on experience with digital imaging systems.
- Mechanical aptitude and experience assembling optical, electronic, or mechanical components.
- Previous experience in aerial imaging, aviation systems integration, or aircraft maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and wiring diagrams.
- Experience with remote monitoring tools, camera calibration, or field data acquisition systems is a plus.
