SUMMARY: Analyzes technical data and complete complex freight traffic duties for shipments, whether inbound or outbound transports, including shipments of Defense Weapons Systems or missiles and related artic l es , and shipments of explosives, dangerous materials and security risk articles and whether transported by air , rail , truck or wate r . Determine transportation characteristics on oversized , overweight , sensitive and class i fied freight to ensure compliance with Department of Defense, Department of Transportat i on, federa l, State and local government regulations . Coordinate ships of Foreign Military Sales within provisions of FMS Case and regulatory guidance. Prepare, monitor, arrange clearance and code shipments for embarkation primarily recurrent between a limited numbers of points for further sh i pments overseas. Engage in negotiations with carriers to secure competitive rates and complete transport arrangements. Provide factua l information concerning shipments of Army Missile Command and Tenant Activities. Expedite shipments and implement tracer actions when necessary . Monitor carrier performance and initiate advisory act i on against serv i ce providers that fail to perform at satisfactory standards in accordance with applicable codes or regulations. Determine requirements for re-consignment and diversion of shipments, review bills of lading , and prepare Transportation Discrepancy Reports on lost and damaged articles . Authorize payments to carr i er serv i ce providers based on compliance with service agreements . Establishes , maintains and disposes of files and records pertaining to transportation of materials . | EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Essential : - Must have a high school diploma/GED or equivalent . Associate degree preferred.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Possess a valid Drivers License
- Must possess or be able to obtain a Secret Security clearance. Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance and military Common Access Card (CAC) within 30 days, if required.
- Familiar with the shipping of government equipment and associated documentation needed

The position requires the ability to effectively respond to, communicate with, and present information to customers, clients, internal staff, and other employees. The employee must be able to clearly interpret instructions and information and explain them to others in the performance of job duties, possess strong computer literacy, and be able to operate standard office equipment. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The employee is required to walk, stand, sit, and move about the property for extended periods of time. The position involves physical activities requiring considerable use of the arms, legs, and full body, including climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, squatting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and handling materials. The employee must be able to work indoors and outdoors in inclement weather conditions. The role requires the ability to handle equipment and supplies weighing up to 30 pounds individually and occasionally items weighing more than 50 pounds with assistance. Sufficient visual acuity is required to review written documentation, along with the ability to hear and understand speech at normal room levels and on the telephone. The employee works primarily in an office environment but must be able to perform physical tasks as required. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory during all periods of exposure to hazardous conditions. The position also requires cognitive abilities including problem-solving, decision-making, data interpretation, organization, and reading and writing. WORK ENVIRONMENT/HOURS: This position is not eligible for remote work, as the essential functions of the role require the employee to perform duties on-site. May be exposed to inclement/extreme weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment may vary from moderate to high, depending on location. Must be able to work in fast paced, multi-task environment. If applicable work 10(+) hours per day Will require having flexed hours to accommodate for mission requirements to include weekends and Holidays. Overtime may be required. EXPECTATIONS: Transportation & Access: You must have reliable transportation to and from work and be able to access military installations. Background & Drug Screening: Employment requires passing a background check and pre-employment drug screening. Random drug and alcohol testing may also occur without prior notice. Timesheets: Record your actual work hours daily and ensure your entries are accurate and timely to support smooth operations. Dress & Punctuality: Arrive on time and dress appropriately for your shift.
