Position Summary:
The Spear Group has an exciting Owner's Representative Capital Project Manager opportunity for a PM with expertise dealing with pharmaceutical manufacturing facility building management systems / building automation systems large project work -- BMS / BAS / HVAC.
This Pharma Capital Project Manager position supports our top-tier, global pharma manufacturing client with a large facility expansion project in the Kansas City, Kansas area.
Local candidates needed who have experience with HVAC BMS / BAS projects in a manufacturing facility environment.
The Project Manager manages HVAC BMS / BAS capital project as an owner's representative ensuring stakeholders' best interest and successful project delivery/ BMS install and optimization including compliance specifications. Project management responsibilities include the coordination and completion of projects on time within budget and within scope and oversight of all aspects of a project. The Project Manager will be required to set deadlines, assign responsibilities, and monitor and summarize progress of project. Preparation of reports for upper management regarding status of project is expected as well.
Key Responsibilities:
- End to end capital project management.
- An understanding of manufacturing HVAC systems / BMS / BAS and how they operate.
- An understanding of computer operating systems including MS 365.
- A working understanding of AC power circuitry including breakers, multi-phase power, etc.
- Clear and concise ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
- A thorough understanding of HVAC systems and how they operate.
- Understanding Project Specifications and requirements.
- Ability to read and understand constructions documents, such as Plans, Specs, Contract requirements, Architectural and electrical drawings.
- Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.
- Ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within scope and within budget.
- Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility and regulatory/cGMP compliance.
- Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices and procedures.
- Ensure resource availability and allocation.
- Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress.
- Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques.
- Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Report and escalate to management as needed.
- Manage the relationship with the stakeholders.
- Perform risk management to minimize project risks.
- Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors.
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
- Meet with owner to take detailed ordering briefs and clarify specific project requirements.
- Track project performance, stage gates/phases, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and long-term project goals.
- Meet budgetary objectives and project constraints based on financial analysis.
- Develop comprehensive project direction to be shared with project owner and capital project team, including support areas.
- Continually develop leadership and project team communication skills.
- Develop dashboards, spreadsheets, diagrams, process maps, reports and documents when needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree related to HVAC, Mechanical or Electrical or related engineering.
- Experience with BAS / BMS systems from Honeywell or Siemens or similar vendor is required.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in pharmaceutical or manufacturing capital project management.
- Proven working experience in project management utilizing project tools like MS Project and any other type of project reporting/tracking tools.
- Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills. Experience working effectively and positively in a project team collaborative scenario.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills.
- Strong working knowledge of MS 365 as well as Last PlannerĀ®, TAKT planning, pull planning, etc. is preferred.
