Description
The AV Lead Technician is accountable for owning the successful execution of audiovisual
projects in the field — leading installation teams, ensuring quality and safety, troubleshooting
complex systems, delivering client-ready solutions, and representing Net-AV with
professionalism and expertise. This position bridges engineering and execution, ensuring that
every system is installed according to design intent and delivered with complete customer
satisfaction.
Requirements
Position Specific Standards
- Minimum 5+ years of commercial AV installation experience.
- Must be able to pass background and drug screening tests.
- Fluent in English. Bilingual preferred.
- AVIXA CTS certification (CTS-I preferred).
- Network experience (A+ Network preferred)
- Familiarity with Crestron, Q-SYS, Biamp, Extron, Cisco, and AV-over-IP solutions.
- Proven leadership experience directing crews of 2–5+ technicians.
- Strong communication skills with clients, general contractors, and internal teams.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, electrical, and AV system drawings.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites.
- Travel up to 25-50%.
- Capable of lifting 75 lbs and working at heights up to 35 feet.
- Regular attendance, some overtime, and occasional overnight travel required.
Tactical Work Listing
- Lead and supervise installation teams on-site, ensuring adherence to project scope, drawings, and safety protocols.
- Pull cable, install connectors, mount displays, speakers, cameras, and other devices.
- Perform rack fabrication, equipment installation, and signal routing per design specifications.
- Upload, download, and test control system programs (Crestron, Q-SYS, Biamp, AMX, etc.).
- Diagnose and resolve complex system issues, including AV-over-IP, control logic, and device integration.
- Conduct system testing, verification, and performance tuning.
- Deliver basic client training and system handoff documentation.
- Serve as primary on-site liaison for clients and general contractors when the Project Manager is unavailable.
- Mentor and train Technician I–III team members, fostering skill growth and field consistency.
- Accurately complete field documentation, redlines, and daily reports.
- Support commissioning and punch list resolution through project closeout.
- Other duties as assigned.
