JOB SUMMARY:
The Trade Compliance Manager reports to the Director of Trade Compliance – Trade Data and Systems and works with Business Units across all segments providing guidance and establishing processes and procedures pertaining to Harmonized Tariff Classification (HTS), non-preferential and preferential (Free Trade Agreement) country of origin determination. Works closely with Trade Compliance Systems Manager with system administrative activities. Collaborates with guidance on other Trade Compliance related requirements across the company. The manager identifies and implements strategies to improve, streamline, and standardize Trade Data processes.
The main focus of the Manager is providing support for US/Americas business units but not restricted to as per system administrative activities.
POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and collaborate on USMCA determinations
- Lead and collaborate on HTS determinations
- Lead and collaborate on Commercial Origin determinations
- Lead and collaborate on additional Free Trade Agreement determinations
- Establish procedures
- Provide guidance to Business Units on processes for Trade Data determinations
- Elaborate Customs Ruling Requests
- Collaborate with administrative activities in Global Trade Management system
- Collaborate with Global Trade Data – overseas group on HTS and other Trade Data topics
- Manages, investigates, and collaborates with CBP CF28 requests pertaining to Trade Data
- Provides Trade Data analytics to Trade Compliance Director
- Collaborate and support Global Trade Data inquiries
- Collaborates with the Manager of Policy, Procedure, and Training to develop and execute procedures
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree or greater and a minimum of 5 years of experience in Free Trade Agreements
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in Origin Determination
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in Classification
- Medium to High Global Trade Management system experience (SAP, Oracle, E2Open, or similar)
- LCB, CCLS, CCTS or similar certification preferred
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and driving change in a complex, multi-level organization.
- Strong leadership skills with excellent interpersonal and management skills; frequent interaction with Business Managers, Manufacturing Facilities, Legal Services, Global Purchasing, Marketing, Corporate Accounting, Corporate Tax, Corporate Auditing, outside counsel, and government officials.
- Domestic and international travel required (~25%).
