Summary/Objective:
The Mechanical Field Superintendent is responsible for planning, supervising, and executing all phases of installation for medium to large, complex heating, cooling, and associated control systems. This role provides hands-on field leadership to ensure work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards.

- Field Operations & Project Execution
- Lay out project work and coordinate labor, materials, tools, and equipment to meet project scope, budget, and construction schedules.
- Provide on-site supervision of assigned construction projects, trade contractors, and field personnel.
- Ensure projects are completed in accordance with established quality, performance standards, and customer/client expectations.
- Understand, interpret, and utilize architectural, mechanical, and MEP drawings in the field.
- Provide timely and accurate documentation of work performed.
- Safety, Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure safe installation, alteration, addition, and repair of mechanical systems and associated equipment.
- Operate vehicles and equipment safely while adhering to all safety protocols.
- Identify, report, and mitigate hazards and risks to maintain a safe and secure work environment.
- Follow all applicable local, state, and federal laws, regulations, and building codes.
- Drive company vehicles throughout the service area in compliance with all traffic laws and company policies.
- Leadership, Supervision & Talent Development
- Supervise and direct field personnel to ensure productivity, accountability, and quality workmanship.
- Assist the Director of Mechanical Operations with recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
- Communicate job expectations and provide coaching, performance feedback, and corrective action as needed.
- Support employee development and promote opportunities for professional growth.
- Client, Vendor & Internal Collaboration
- Maintain a high level of professionalism with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and internal team members.
- Build and sustain positive working relationships to support successful project outcomes.
- Assist the sales team with estimating support, scope development, and proposal input.
- Support the sales team by participating in site visits as needed.
- Planning, Coordination & Documentation
- Coordinate daily field activities to maintain schedule adherence and minimize disruptions.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of field reports, documentation, and project records.
- Support internal processes, policies, and productivity standards to drive operational efficiency.
Competencies:

- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced field environment
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Working knowledge of applicable building codes and installation standards
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position has direct supervisory responsibility over field personnel.
Work Environment:
This position operates primarily in a field environment and involves exposure to potentially hazardous materials, noise, and extreme temperatures. Work may be required outside of normal business hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs or ladders, and push or pull equipment. The employee must occasionally lift or move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
Position Type:
This is a full-time position.
Required Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 15 years experience in the commercial mechanical industry, including at least 5 years in a supervisory role
- Journeyman or Master HVAC License
- Experience supporting data center or mission-critical environments
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification

Compu Dynamics Pay Range$105,000—$145,000 USD Compu Dynamics offers a comprehensive benefits package that supports the health, well-being, and growth of our team members.
