Overview
BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
Sev1Tech is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Network Engineer to join our team in supporting the US Space Force meshONE-T program. This position will assist in the management, configuration, and troubleshooting of the network infrastructure. This position is based out of the Denver, CO, area.
Overview/Job responsibilities:
- Plans, designs, and evaluates new and existing computer networks, services, policies and procedures across local and wide area networks, providing analytical, technical, and administrative support
- Troubleshoots network issues--installs and upgrades network equipment and software to include long-haul carrier and ISP cross-connections
- Creates and maintains documentation in accordance with system configuration management processes relating to network configuration, network mapping, and service records
- Practices network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications
- Monitors and tests network performance and provides network performance statistics and reports
- Communicate effectively with other project groups such as cybersecurity, network, operations, and Program Management teams to assist with the installation and troubleshooting of systems components
- Support of all updates to all documents when there is change in the transport design and/or technologies and collaborating with all stakeholders to test all related systems and processes to verify that the systems meet requirements and can host applications with no degradation to performance or security
- Provide design and architecture recommendations to enhance and improve network performance
Position Details:
- Position is based out of the Denver Tech Center with some travel throughout the Colorado Front Range Area (Colorado Springs to Boulder)
- Less than 10% travel out of state
- Non-supervisory position
- meshONE-T is a closed network and the expectation is at least 4-days/week on-site or at a customer location
- Clearance: Current active Secret clearance and eligible for a TS/SCI
Salary: $120,000 140,000
Responsibilities
- At least 5 years of network engineering experience of network experience: functions and concepts of a wide area network, OSI network layers, designing LAN/WAN's and network architecture and design
- Experience with routing/switching configuration and troubleshooting to the CCNP level
- IP experience (to include sub-netting and routing), IPV4/IPV6
- Current Security + certification
Qualifications
- Experience with NetBrain, Network Services Orchestrator, Solarwinds, Infoblox, and ITSM
- Knowledge of/experience with space mission systems
- Familiarity with VM, Linux, and/or Windows environments
- Experience working in Department of Defense or with Department of Defense or Federal contracts
