Job Summary:
This position will work with the Fulbright Student Outreach & Recruitment team. With a primary focus on the Fulbright U.S. Student Program, the Outreach and Recruitment Specialist builds networks of faculty and administrators at U.S. higher education institutions (HEIs), demonstrates the strengths of the program to the network, and inspires them to take up the challenge of recruiting and supporting the best of U.S. higher education to an international audience. To reach this objective, the Specialist conducts recruitment activities that expand the engagement and capacity of Fulbright Program Adviser network (FPAs), including the following components: development and implementation of the FPA training program; oversight of the FPA Mentor Program and the FPA Development Initiative. Additionally, the Specialist supports the Assistant Director in the implementation of the FUSP recruitment strategy by presenting at academic conferences and campuses, hosting webinars, FPA resource development, data analysis, and execution of digital campaigns to reach the FPA audience. This position works across teams at IIE and serves as a subject matter expert for the Fulbright Student Program.
Essential Functions:
- Supports the Assistant Director in the development of a strategic recruitment plan for the Fulbright U.S. Student program that includes detailed and targeted outreach and recruitment initiatives with the primary objective of expanding applicant and institutional representation. Directly responsible for the implementation of strategies aimed at increasing FPA network engagement, and at growing the network.
- Contributes to strategic planning through development and implementation of data analysis that assesses FPA effectiveness re: application success and assesses team efforts (resources, trainings, webinars). Utilize engagement and application metrics to recommend development of new resources, trainings and webinars to increase institutional engagement and application numbers.
- Serves as the internal subject matter expert on FPA engagement and institutional representation. Serves as a point of contact for the FPA network and potential applicants.
- Manages FPA Mentor Program and the FPA Development Initiative, including overseeing application and selection, conducting the orientation, and assigning and tracking outreach activities and outcomes throughout the cohort service year.
- Maintains FPA and general website resources. Works closely with the Application & Selection team on FPA Application Portal materials. Oversees and works with Program Analyst to administer FPA competition survey and other data collection.
- Leads production, dissemination and monitoring of outreach materials and information for FPAs that is tailored to different FPA engagement levels and ensures correct brand usage in creation of all materials.
- Manages the Group Presentation Session and FPA webinar schedules and in-person FPA trainings and events.
- Provides work direction to the Outreach and Recruitment Coordinator on FPA event logistics, travel bookings, reimbursements, and engagement assignments. Oversees procurement and payment for event spaces, catering, business dinners, hotels, and promotional materials.
- Develops, maintains and supports key contacts at partner institutions. Interacts with other external constituencies, including, ECA, vendors, consultants, and contractors, to professionally represent IIE and the Fulbright Program.
- Helps develop, track, and maintain the program budget for FPA-related activities.
- Works closely with the Strategic Communications and Events Teams to highlight institutional success stories and incorporate FPAs into key Fulbright Program events.
- Collaborates with the Director of Academic Relations, the Fulbright Scholar Outreach & Recruitment to team to bolster institutional engagement across programmatic opportunities.

Qualifications and Experience:
Education and Work Experience:
• Requires a Bachelor's degree and at least five years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Master's or other advanced degree preferred
• Strong understanding of best practices in the U.S. HEI and fellowships context.
• Strong understanding of higher education environment, including areas such as international programs, grants and sponsored research, and fellowship advising.
• Ability to organize and handle a large volume of work under severe time constraints and pressures.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, public speaking and presentation skills.
• Demonstrated ability to use diplomacy in difficult situations preferred.
• Previous experience with customer or volunteer relationship management and database software preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook and applicable outreach and recruitment mediums.
• Willingness and availability to travel.
Salary and Benefits:
• Hiring Range: $67,097 - $85,801. A candidate's salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, job-related knowledge, skills, abilities, internal organizational equity, and geographic region.
