The OutSystems Developer will be responsible for hands-on development of customer-facing portal capabilities within the OutSystems platform, including API-driven integrations, data modeling, UI development, workflow logic, and support for multi-team agile delivery. This developer will work closely with product owners, architects, and existing development staff to accelerate delivery, ensure code quality, maintain cohesion between teams, and support potential future architectural decisions—including the ability to pivot to C# or other frameworks if required.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop customer-facing features, workflows, and integrations inside the OutSystems platform.
- Build and consume REST/SOAP APIs connecting the portal to CIS, billing, payments, and future acquisition systems.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and work closely with existing National Fuel developers.
- Support potential architectural pivots (e.g., C# development) as the organization evaluates long-term platform direction.
- Collaborate effectively across distributed teams, including follow-the-sun models.
Required Skills
- 37+ years of OutSystems development experience (Reactive or Traditional Web).
- Strong API integration experience.
- Solid understanding of data modeling, UI development, and low-code application design.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills; able to work with multiple parallel teams.
- Flexibility to adapt to new technologies as needed.
- Ability to extend OutSystems with C#/.NET when needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience on customer portal or utility/energy industry systems.
- Prior work in multi-team, dual-shore, or accelerated delivery environments.
- Able to demonstrate depth in OutSystems and, ideally, broader development experience.
The compensation for this position is $145,000 to $185,000 per year depending on experience and qualifications. Employees are also eligible for performance-based bonus/ to participate in a performance-based incentive plan. This position is eligible for a benefits package including; medical, dental, vision, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, 7 paid holidays and PTO.
