- Production Engineer
Description
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the production team to ensure safe, reliable, and high-quality operations across the NYCO production facility.
Design, develop, and implement production processes, methods, and controls to achieve quality standards in a cost-effective manner.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and recommend modifications to operating sequences, equipment utilization, and related systems.
Monitor production activities to ensure alignment with schedules, operational targets, and established quality standards.
Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), driving corrective actions to address performance gaps and optimize output.
Lead and participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations to identify underlying issues and implement sustainable solutions.
Initiate and support the Management of Change (MOC) process to ensure operational safety, regulatory compliance, and process integrity.
Provide on-the-ground technical support during plant startups, shutdowns, and operational upsets.
Support off-hours and non-routine operations, including unit turnarounds and emergency response as needed.
Perform any other duties assigned by Management.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a chemical manufacturing or production environment.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
Demonstrated commitment to safety, environmental stewardship, and regulatory compliance.
Ability to climb stairs and ladders up to 40 feet and work at elevated heights (up to approximately five stories).
Capability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including respiratory protection, for extended periods.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds as needed.
Preferred Job Requirements:
Experience with polyol ester reaction processes and related chemistries.
Proficiency in Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems, with the ability to manage workflows from order receipt through production, packaging, and shipment.
Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles, including 5S methodologies.
Demonstrated experience driving continuous improvement initiatives in a production environment.
Hands-on experience with chemical processing operations, including reactors, distillation systems, or blending processes.
Experience leading teams or supervising employees in a chemical facility.
