Key responsibilities
In this role, you will manage retrofit and upgrade projects for robotic and automation systems, ensuring successful project execution and supporting ABB Robotics customers in maintaining production reliability throughout the full product lifecycle.
This role is contributing to the Robotics business line Customer Service in the DACH-region. Main stakeholders are customers, internal engineering teams, suppliers, and global project teams.
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Managing the entire project lifecycle for retrofit and upgrade projects in the Robotics & Automation domain, from bidding and proposal preparation through to final project acceptance and contract closure.
- Translating customer requirements into technical concepts and coordinating their implementation across projects in Europe.
- Preparing and maintaining key project documentation including quotations, schedules, cost calculations, and technical specifications.
- Monitoring and controlling project scope, costs, schedules, and risks in close coordination with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
- Leading local and global project teams and coordinating internal and external resources to ensure successful project execution.
- Defining the project execution strategy and ensuring alignment of all stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
You will join a System Service team within ABB Robotics, where you will be able to contribute to the modernization and long-term reliability of highly automated production systems for leading industrial customers.
Qualifications for the role
- Passion for implementing new technologies combined with strong interpersonal and communication skills when working with stakeholders in highly automated environments.
- At least 3 years of professional experience in project management, ideally in plant engineering or robotic systems.
- Experience in project leadership roles is preferred; PMP or a comparable project management certification is considered an advantage.
- Degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering with proven experience in plant or machinery engineering environments.
- Fluent in German and English with strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Experience with MS Project and Salesforce is considered an advantage.
- Willingness to travel approximately 40% within the DACH region and across Europe.
