- Base Salary $156,277 p.a. (HEO10) + 17% superannuation
About the opportunity
Join the University of Sydney as the Senior Manager, Student Information and Regulatory Reporting, where you will manage student information reporting and data collection initiatives to meet institutional reporting obligations, including for the Tertiary Collection of Student Information (TCSI) – a joint initiative between the Department of Education and Services Australia, designed to modernise and streamline the way tertiary education providers report student and staff data.
The Senior Manager will oversee a team dedicated to managing student information and reporting for TCSI, leading on initiatives to continuously monitor, respond to emerging requirements and ensure regulatory and other reporting requirements are effectively delivered. Embedded within the Curriculum and Policy team in the Division of the Academic Registrar and reporting to the Deputy Registrar and Executive Director (Curriculum and Policy), this role plays a pivotal part in managing and continuously identifying opportunities to enhance student data management, driving digital transformation, and supporting institutional planning through strategic insights.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- work closely with the Academic Registrar and Deputy Registrar and Executive Director (Curriculum and Policy) and key stakeholders in institutional planning, privacy, human resources and ICT teams
- manage a team responsible for monitoring and aligning student data definitions with national reporting standards
- lead strategic projects to improve data management, ensure continuous alignment with regulatory obligations and the student experience
- oversee the development and adoption of dashboards and reporting tools to support decision-making
- champion data governance and contribute to policy development
- collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support TCSI regulatory requirements and operational priorities.

postgraduate qualifications in a relevant field or equivalent experience
substantial experience in regulatory reporting and compliance within higher education or similar complex environments
demonstrated people management experience and ability to lead cross-functional teams
strong knowledge of student lifecycle management and data governance frameworks
proven project management and process improvement skills
high-level analytical and strategic thinking capabilities.
