ROLE PROFILEThe GIM Dashboard Team designs, delivers, and maintains advanced Power BI dashboards that provide deep insights into Group Investment Management's project and portfolio performance, primarily sourced from Clarity and enterprise data platforms. These dashboards are widely used across LSEG by business managers, portfolio leads, project and programme managers, and senior executives. Reporting to the GIM Dashboards Owner, the Senior Dashboard Developer plays a key role in shaping high-visibility reporting products that support strategic decision-making at scale.
ROLE SUMMARY
The Senior Dashboard Developer is responsible for building intuitive, scalable, and visually consistent Power BI dashboards to support project and programme delivery and executive decision-making. They will participate in briefing sessions, build prototypes and mock-ups, and refine them into production-ready dashboards supported by strong data modelling and performance optimisation. Success requires technical depth in BI development, strong analytical thinking, stakeholder engagement skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-moving environment.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Design, build, and maintain enterprise-grade Power BI dashboards used across GIM and broader LSEG leadership.
- Utilize data science capabilities to inform, improve and optimize data models and dashboard construction.
- Engage with stakeholders to understand business requirements and produce prototypes (mock-ups, spreadsheets, initial PBIX models).
- Collaborate with the Data Engineering team to integrate data from the data warehouse, OneLake, or Snowflake.
- Build robust data models, DAX measures, and efficient transformations using Power Query (M).
- Develop ETL scripts to ingest and structure data for reporting, including support for modern pipelines (e.g., Fabric Dataflows Gen2, Databricks, PySpark).
- Optimise Power BI dashboards for high performance, usability, and maintainability.
- Ensure dashboard UX follows the established style guide and aligns with the GIM reporting framework.
- Conduct unit testing, peer reviews, support SIT/UAT, and ensure defect resolution.
- Produce essential documentation: Design Specs, User Guides, Release Notes, and Process Docs.
- Contribute to improvements in development standards, Agile practices, and Jira processes.
- Identify data issues or process inefficiencies and contribute to resolution.
- Support the adoption of Q&A, AI features, and advanced analytics in dashboards where applicable.
Essential Skills & Experience
- 2+ years hands-on Power BI development.
- Advanced SQL (T-SQL/ANSI SQL) and strong DAX expertise.
- Proven experience with Power Query (M), data modelling, and performance optimization.
- Experience with enterprise programme management / PPM tools such as Clarity, Planview, Asana, and JIRA.
- Experience implementing Row Level Security (RLS).
- Strong understanding of data flows from data warehouse to UI.
- Proficiency with Python or R, with experience in libraries such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or similar.
- Experience of LLM prompt engineering for systematic feature extraction from unstructured data.
- Hands-on experience with ETL processes and tools.
- Experience with source control (Git).
- Strong analytical skills and ability to identify patterns and insights in data.
- Skilled in requirements analysis, designing specifications, testing, and documentation.
- Excellent communication skills (written & verbal).
- Thrives in rapidly evolving environments with shifting priorities.
- Collaborative team player-supportive, flexible, proactive, and accountable.
- Highly organised, self-disciplined, and detail-focused.
- Strong eye for dashboard design, usability, and accessibility.
- Excellent stakeholder relationship management.

- Flexibility to work aligned with UK business hours.
- Experience with OneLake/Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, Lakehouse, or Dataflows Gen2.
- Experience with SQL optimisation and modelling.
- Experience with KQL for Log Analytics or Fabric monitoring.
- Familiarity with advanced Power BI features such as AI visuals or Q&A.
- Degree in a numerate discipline (Statistics, Math, Physics, Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science).

You'll work with Microsoft Fabric, OneLake, and modern BI technologies, expanding your expertise while contributing to high-impact reporting solutions.
