Forsyth County Government is seeking skilled project managers to help deliver the public infrastructure and facilities that define one of Georgia’s fastest-growing counties. These positions offer the opportunity to manage impactful, high-visibility projects that strengthen our community and support long-term growth.
We are currently hiring for two positions within our Capital Projects Department:
Senior Project Manager – Transportation:
Lead the planning, design, and construction of roadway, intersection, and corridor improvement projects that improve safety, mobility, and connectivity across Forsyth County. This position manages every stage of delivery, from concept through construction closeout, ensuring work is completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with local and state standards. You’ll work closely with engineers, contractors, and partner agencies to move priority transportation projects from blueprint to reality.
Project Manager – Vertical (Level II or Senior):
Oversee the development of County facilities that serve the public every day, including public safety complexes, recreation centers, and administrative buildings. The selected candidate will be hired at either the Project Manager II or Senior Project Manager level based on experience and licensure. This role is responsible for guiding building projects from design through construction completion, managing consultants and contractors, maintaining quality and budget control, and coordinating with internal departments to ensure that each facility meets County standards for performance and durability.

Requirements
Senior Project Manager – Transportation
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required; must hold an active P.E. in any U.S. state and be able to obtain Georgia licensure within 12 months of hire
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in project management, engineering design, or construction oversight related to transportation infrastructure
- Demonstrated success managing roadway, intersection, or transportation improvement projects through all phases including planning, design, permitting, and construction
- Proven ability to coordinate with consultants, contractors, and multiple public agencies
- Strong knowledge of budgeting, scheduling, and contract administration principles
Project Manager – Vertical (Level II or Senior)
This position may be filled at either the Project Manager II or Senior Project Manager level based on experience, credentials, and project scope responsibility.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a closely related field
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in project management, building design, or construction administration
- Demonstrated experience delivering facility projects such as public safety buildings, recreation centers, or government offices through planning, design, and construction
- Proven ability to coordinate with design and construction teams, contractors, and internal stakeholders
- Strong knowledge of budgeting, scheduling, and contract administration principles
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required at the Senior Project Manager level
