DSS, Inc. is a leading health information software development and systems integration company, offering services and solutions utilized daily by thousands of clinicians and administrative staff across both public and private sectors nationwide. We are currently seeking a Senior Software Engineer experience.
OVERVIEW
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer specializing in Web Application Development to join our team. In this role, you will build modern, user-friendly web interfaces, enhance existing product lines, and contribute to the full software development lifecycle—from analysis and requirements documentation to design, development, testing, and deployment. You will also play a key role in mentoring junior engineers and serving as a technical point of contact for project teams.
Software Engineer, Senior will:
Design, develop, debug, and test web-enabled interfaces for DSS products.
Enhance existing product features, build new modules, and contribute to new product development.
Participate in project planning, product maintenance, system enhancements, and rapid issue resolution.
Mentor junior developers by sharing technical expertise and best practices.
Serve as the primary development point of contact for one or more projects.
Other Duties:
Follow established documentation standards and meet required deadlines.
Provide consistent feedback and technical support to assigned development teams.
Prepare and maintain project documentation, including version notes, manuals, and technical processes.
Communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) with teams across the organization.
Travel occasionally (up to 25%) based on project and client needs.
SECURITY AND PRIVACY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Individuals working for DSS will be subject to security and privacy requirements as explained in HIPAA, FedRAMP, and NIST 800-53. Additionally, they are required to undergo specific FedRAMP training to ensure compliance with all associated controls and responsibilities in the day-to-day performance of their duties. Individuals working in departments that are considered to be in the high risk category will be required to undergo advanced training based on their role and level of access. Individuals with access to modify data and the configuration baseline will require further training.

Qualifications
6+ years of software development experience
3+ years of hands-on web application development
Candidates must demonstrate strong experience in a structured, process-driven development environment with proficiency in:
HTML5
JavaScript
CSS
AJAX
Angular
C#
.NET
Delphi
SQL Server
Additional requirements include:
Ability to work independently and mentor junior team members
Strong attention to detail
Ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
Preferred Skills:
Experience designing or developing EHR software
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks under tight deadlines
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent verbal and written communication
Strong organizational skills and the ability to identify and remove barriers to progress
Education
Required: Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred: Master's degree in a related field
Certifications
Preferred: MCSD, Advanced Web & Mobile Application Development certifications, or similar credentials
