Description
Summary of Position: This position is responsible for managing project teams to successful completion of all project deliverables, related documents, and coordination of project requirements. The role includes supervising engineering projects, processes, budgets, and timelines and making necessary adjustments to ensure projects are completed successfully and that CCI’s quality requirements and client requirements are upheld or exceeded. Project Managers should be expected to manage EIT’s and drafting, coordinate with other departments, and assist with execution and review of project deliverables.
Accountabilities:
- Assist Trenchless Lead/Manager with management of projects. Report periodically to Trenchless Department Manger to update on progress, client dealings, and project challenges.
- Project scope development and proposal creation for new projects.
- Create project plans and project schedules utilizing tools such as excel, MS Project, etc.
- Collaborate with various departments and hold meetings to develop project plans and present them to upper-level management before starting the project.
- Create, track, and maintain the project budget and progress, ensuring project deadlines are met.
- Work with project controls to provide internal/external cost updates, prepare change orders, and manage scope change.
- Utilize project engineers, junior engineers, and SME support to complete project deliverables and execute successful projects.
- Ensure work completed follows CCI quality processes, including quality checks.
- Maintaining professional working relationships with clients, contractors, coworkers, and other personnel.
- Assist with the completion of various project deliverables (cost estimates, schedules, engineered drawings, stress calculations, specifications, evaluation of construction feasibility, geotechnical reviews, route evaluation and selection, etc.)
- Report on the success of projects and any setbacks that were encountered or room for improvement.
- Monitor the performance of individual contributors and help guide their professional development.
- Maintain a working knowledge of client requirements and specifications
- Occasional travel to site for information gathering, pipeline routing, feasibility studies or troubleshooting tasks
- Assist with business development, including occasional presentations or attendance at industry conferences.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an Accredited University (Civil, Mechanical or Geotechnical preferred).
- Registered as Professional Engineer with APEGA, or articling E.I.T (additional PE licensing considered an asset).
- 5+ years’ professional experience in a related field; construction and/or field experience is considered an asset.
- Strong technical understanding and experience with trenchless technology, pipelines, and utility construction.
- Knowledge and experience with the preparation of design documentation, hydraulic fracturing analysis, and trenchless methodology calculations is required.
- Experience in managing small to mid size projects.
- Excellent organizational ability, communication, and report writing skills are essential.
- Willingness to learn and take on additional responsibilities.
