Job Description
The Materials Engineering Part-Time Student role primarily focuses on providing technical support and analysis on industrial electronic products that undergo various performance tests in a laboratory environment. Daily responsibilities will be assigned by one or more senior engineers or scientists. You will report to the Manager of Chemistry and Materials.
We intend this role to be a year-round position starting in January. Students typically work 15 hrs./week during the school year and closer to 40 hrs./week during the summer and during breaks.
Location: On-site, Milwaukee, WI (Headquarters). This role does not provide relocation assistance. You must be located within 50 miles from the Milwaukee Headquarters location.
Your Responsibilities:
Perform setup and operation of product corrosion tests in simulated harsh industrial environments.
Receive samples, and set up products for test. This may include sample prep using machining or cutting equipment, use of lab equipment
Set up the test chamber(s) for specific environmental conditions and monitor the test equipment and products under test for correct operation.
Ensure an uninterrupted supply of consumable lab supplies to avoid unnecessary test changes
Disassemble products and perform post-test optical analysis
The Essentials - You Will Have:
Must be pursuing a bachelor's or advanced degree from an accredited college or university
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
Materials Science or Mechanical Engineering major
Taken a courses or courses in materials science or materials engineering
Previous internship experience
Familiarity with chemical and materials lab environment
Minimum Sophomore standing at an accredited college or university accredited (completed at least freshman year)
Lift up to 50 pounds
Can commit to part-time (minimum 15 hours) during the school year
Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75
Local to Milwaukee area (within 50 miles of the Milwaukee Headquarters location)
Work in the role year round

For this role, the Base Salary Compensation is from $20-40/hourly. Our benefits for the US can be found here. Actual pay will be based on factors such as skills, knowledge, education, and experience.
