The Hawaii State Judiciary is currently accepting applications for two (2) Attorney vacancies. One position is located Oahu and one on Kauai.

1st CIRCUIT COURT, OFFICE OF THE CHIEF COURT ADMINISTRATOR:
Family Court Attorney - Kapolei, Oahu, Recruitment Number 26-089TO, Family Court Attorney, SR-26 Step D ($6,728 per month) to SR-26 Step L ($9,209 per month)* effective July 1, 2026.
This position serves as a legal advisor to the Board of Senior Family Court Judges and Directors in matters needing legal clarification, and is responsible for drafting policies and procedures for judges and staff at the direction of the First Circuit Senior Family Court Judge or designee. This position is also responsible for drafting policies and procedures to implement Acts which impact the Family Courts; drafting legal forms necessary to implement legislation and policies; provides general supervision over the Legal Research Unit; assists with revising and updating the Hawaii Family Court Rules; serves as the First Circuit Family Court Custodian of Records; assists the Board of Senior Family Court Judges and Directors in keeping the statewide policies and procedures consistent; renders legal research assistance to the Family Court judges and administrative staff statewide; drafts legal opinions and memoranda; and is responsible for coordinating legislative efforts for the Family Courts statewide; and performs other related duties as assigned.
5th CIRCUIT COURT, OFFICE OF THE CHIEF COURT ADMINISTRATOR:
Attorney (Program) I - Lihue, Kauai, Recruitment Number 25-236TO, SR-24 Step D to Step L ($6,221 to $8,517 per month)* effective July 1, 2026.
This Attorney position is responsible for providing legal advice, guidance, recommendations and technical support services to the Chief Court Administrator, Chief Judge, Judges and administrators of the Fifth Circuit Court. The position also may assist with handling the mortgage foreclosure and other specific case types under the Fifth Circuit's jurisdiction; and provide staff specialist services to the Chief Court Administrator which supports the initiatives of the Judiciary, the Fifth Circuit's court operations and programs; and performs other related duties as assigned.

HAWAII BAR LICENSE REQUIREMENT: For the Attorney positions listed above, a valid license to practice law in all courts of the State of Hawaii is required. Applicants must possess an active license to practice law in all courts of the State of Hawaii. Applicants who have an INACTIVE license may apply, however, verification of current and ACTIVE license is required upon selection.
