Description
Business FunctionGroup Finance aims to deliver world-class standards in reporting, financial planning and finance processes. We provide insights and analyses that help the bank make sound business decisions - whether in the areas of product development or customer profitability. We also provide capital management, business planning, forecasting, and tax and accounting advisory services.
Responsibilities
- Financial Planning and Analysis: Lead comprehensive financial planning, analysis, and reporting for the Private Banking business. This includes in-depth analysis of P&L, balance sheet, and key client metrics such as Net New Money (NNM), Assets Under Management (AUM), Yield on AUM, and Relationship Manager (RM) productivity, at both overall business and product levels.
- Business Support & Collaboration: Actively partner with business leaders across Hong Kong and the wider region to support discussions, identify opportunities, and spearhead initiatives that optimize performance and growth.
- Actionable Insight Generation: Utilize analytical techniques and digital tools to provide actionable insights on financial and non-financial performance. Translate complex data into clear, concise information to empower strategic business decision-making and objective achievement.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Coordinate financial submissions, including actuals, flash/forecasts, and budgets, with Regional Business Finance and Group/HK FP&A. Facilitate variance analysis discussions and foster a collaborative environment.
- Financial Advisory: Provide guidance on financial matters, including revenue recognition, expense booking, accounting policies, and financial controls. Ensure adherence to regulatory standards and internal policies, upholding the financial integrity of the Private Banking business.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to streamline and enhance existing financial processes related to actuals, forecasts, and budgeting.
- Project Contribution: Drive and contribute to key projects and initiatives that underpin the growth and evolution of the Private Banking business, providing financial expertise and analytical support.
- Experience & Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Statistics, or a closely related quantitative field, along with 8-10 years of progressive professional experience in financial planning and analysis, performance management, or consulting, preferably within the financial services industry.
- Private Banking Knowledge: Strong understanding and prior experience supporting the Private Banking or Wealth Management business, with sound market knowledge and familiarity with wealth products. Exposure to budgeting processes, deposits, loans, and diverse wealth management products is essential.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Ability to interpret complex financial data into meaningful insights.
- Communication & Stakeholder Management: Strong and influential communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and manage diverse stakeholders at various levels.
- Delivery Focus: Proven ability to deliver high-quality results in a demanding environment, consistently delivering quality analysis and outcomes within established timelines.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint is mandatory. Working knowledge of financial systems such as Hyperion and PSGL is required.
- Data & Visualization Skills: Experience with data visualization software (e.g., Qlikview, Tableau, Think-Cell) and strong data mining and database management skills are highly desirable.
- Language Proficiency: Excellent command of spoken and written English and Chinese.
