Description
A church nursery worker provides safe, nurturing care of children aged 0-5 years during church services and event, ensuring a supportive environment for their development.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Child Care: Provide age-appropriate care, including feeding, changing diapers, and maintaining a safe environment for children.
- Engagement: Interact with children through games, stories, and play fostering a cheerful and trusting atmosphere.
- Supervision: Monitor children’s activities to ensure their safety and well-being during church functions.
- Communication: Maintain open communication with parents regarding their children's needs and activities and report any issues to the supervisor.
- Cleaning and Maintenance: Clean and organize the nursery space after every use, ensuring all toys and equipment are sanitized and safe for use.
Qualifications
- Experience: Previous experience working with children, particularly in a church or educational setting, is highly desirable.
- Training: Completion of a background check and Safe Church training modules are required before assuming the position. Completion of CPR and First Aid training for infants and children is highly desirable.
- Personal Attributes: Must be friendly, patient, kind and able to communicate effectively with both children and parents.
Work Environment
- Hours: Typically, the nursery worker will be expected to work prior to and during the church services, including Sundays and special occasions. Flexibility for additional hours during church activities is required.
- Teamwork: Work alongside volunteers and staff to create a supportive environment for children and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
This role is vital in providing a nurturing and safe space for young children while their parents participate in church activities, contributing to the overall mission of the church community.
