Compliance and Privacy Officer

Boulder Community Health is seeking a Compliance and Privacy Officer (CPO) to provide strategic leadership over the organization’s compliance and privacy programs. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing a comprehensive program that promotes an ethical culture and ensures adherence to federal and state healthcare laws, regulations, and internal policies.
Serving as the organization’s Privacy Officer, the CPO partners closely with Information Security to ensure compliance with all applicable privacy requirements. The CPO leads system-wide compliance and privacy initiatives, advises leaders across the organization, and serves as a trusted advisor to executive leadership and the Board of Directors on regulatory compliance, risk management, and ethical standards.
The CPO provides regular updates and reports to the Chief Executive Officer, executive leadership and the Board (or designated committee) on compliance and privacy program performance and activities.

Responsibilities
Lead the development, implementation, and oversight of the organization’s compliance and privacy program
Ensure adherence to federal and state healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA, CMS, Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute)
Conduct risk assessments, audits, and monitoring activities to identify and address compliance risks
Develop and maintain compliance and privacy policies, standards, and work plans
Oversee investigations of compliance concerns and ensure appropriate corrective actions are taken
Lead compliance and privacy education and training programs across the organization
Partner with leadership, Human Resources, and Information Security to support regulatory compliance and enforcement of standards
Monitor regulatory changes and provide guidance to leadership on emerging requirements
Report on compliance and privacy program performance to executive leadership and the Board
Lead privacy breach response and coordinate required notifications and mitigation efforts

Requirements
Qualifications
-Bachelor’s degree required.
-Master’s Degree in hospital or business administration, or related field or J.D., preferred, (e.g., MHA, MPA, MBA).
-Certification in healthcare compliance and/or privacy, preferred.
-Minimum 7 years of experience in healthcare compliance or related activities is required, with at least 3 years in a leadership role preferred.
