Wisconsin Civic Power Table
The Wisconsin Civic Power Table (WCPT) is a 501(C)(3) fiscally-sponsored organization and the Wisconsin affiliate of the State Voices network. WCPT convenes a community of over 60 partners, providing support, accountability, and cohesive strategy to build collective and well-organized power. Specifically, WCPT provides capacity, grants, data, tools, and coordination to help its partners create a healthy and thriving democracy through a racial equity lens. WCPT and its partners promote civic engagement, access, and representation through a variety of methods, including: voter education, registration, and mobilization; issue advocacy, base building, community organizing, communications, and litigation. Development Manager:
The Development Manager is responsible for leading the Table’s fundraising in order to resource its mission and work. This position successfully sets and meets fundraising goals in a supportive, collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will be someone who is good at building and maintaining relationships, is a great writer and communicator, and stays on top of the details while holding the big picture. This position will work independently and in collaboration with key staff, partners, and the board. The Development Manager reports to WCPT’s Executive Director.
Key Responsibilities
65% - Grants Management
Manage the drafting, editing, and submission of timely grant materials; such as proposals, letters of inquiry, concept papers, and reports
Identify, cultivate, and grow grant opportunities through research, strategy, and engagement around new funding prospects
Manage the renewal process for existing grants, including maintaining an accurate renewals calendar and liaising with foundation staff
Maintain accurate and up-to-date information in the organization’s grants database on prospective and awarded grants
25% - Funder-facing Communications
Develop and lead WCPT’s annual stewardship calendar, including regular updates to funders
Manage the production of the annual report in close collaboration with staff and partners
Manage and develop content for regular funder briefings to showcase the work and partners
Travel to conferences, meetings, events, and other networking opportunities
10% - Organizational Administration and Support
Provide task management support to all of the organization’s fundraisers
Define and improve documentation processes, procedures and policies for fundraising; including standard templates and language for all fundraising-related documents
Collaborate with the Data team to design systems for data collection and presentation
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Be committed to social, racial and economic justice, expanding democracy, and building a broader social justice movement
Be a good storyteller: you narrate the story of our table and coalition in a compelling way
Be a strong project manager who is exceptionally detail oriented and can manage various deadlines, anticipate rapid response needs, and be effective at delegating
Existing knowledge of the progressive funding landscape, 501c3 compliance, and donor privacy policies is preferred
Compensation: The salary range for this position is $65,000 - $80,000. The Wisconsin Civic Power Table provides a full benefits package that supports the employees’ well-being, financial security, and familial needs.
