Win Without War (501(c)(4)) and Win Without War Education Fund (501(c)(3)) work to push the U.S. government away from violence-first approaches and build a safer, more peaceful world. For more than two decades, our organizations have been at the forefront of a national movement focused on redefining U.S. foreign policy and national security. On the digital side, that work has focused on growing a base hundreds of thousands of activists strong and refining the ways we engage them to join us in this critical moment. Now, as the U.S. government wages wars abroad, weaponizes the troops at home, and seeks billions more dollars for a bloated Pentagon budget, we must expand our impact.

We’re seeking a Digital Associate to join us in this critical moment by supporting tactics and campaigns that can increase our impact, fundraising, and activist base. This is a junior-level role that reports to the Digital Director. The specific day-to-day responsibilities listed below may evolve as the candidate’s skills deepen over time.

Are you interested or have experience in using online tools to build the kind of grassroots power that gets us all that and more? If so, keep reading! 

Here’s what you’d do:
- Play a key role in all aspects of the email and SMS process, including: identifying targets/audiences, calendaring, testing, tracking analytics including email deliverability, and offering recommendations to innovate further. 
- Build and send emails, text messages, and other digital communications as directed.
- Move digital content such as email, SMS, landing page, etc, through approvals;  revise, edit, and ensure the quality of all digital content before launch.
- Help identify opportunities for high-impact digital campaigns that will resonate with a broad audience and inspire more people to support Win Without War’s work by collaborating with internal teams, movement partners, vendors, and consultants.
- Monitor industry trends to inform organizational digital strategy, improve workflows, and maximize engagement.
- Assist with tracking analytics for email, SMS, web, and other digital tools, ensuring performance metrics are tracked effectively to identify opportunities and emerging risks — including email deliverability.
- Draft digital fundraising and advocacy content that effectively communicates our calls-to-action to grow our activist base, generate revenue, and drive impact — often on tight deadlines.
- Participate in relevant meetings, events, conference calls with vendors and consultants, and movement listservs.

You could be great for this job if you:
- Have 1-2+ years of experience in email advocacy, digital fundraising, or online organizing, including experience with CRMs, email campaigning, SMS campaigning, and other digital activism tools.
- Are excited about the challenge of learning the ropes of digital campaigning while working to pursue ambitious organizational goals.
- Care deeply about equity and are committed to working to center the experiences of marginalized communities both within our organization and in our campaigning.
- Write in a clear and compelling way, whether that’s engaging emails to motivate our activists to take action or sharing concise updates with staff members.
- Maintain a strong and consistent attention to detail while managing multiple simultaneous workstreams and priorities.
Are comfortable working with Google Docs, writing basic HTML, and using Excel formulas.

- Fluency in written and oral American English.

Experience in one or more of the following areas isn’t required, but is a plus:
- Working with a large email list (250,000+ subscribers).
- Familiarity with working on a large SMS program.
- Familiarity with digital engagement and fundraising platforms like ActionKit, Action Network, and ActBlue.
- Understanding of the basic operations, structures, and incentives in governmental decision-making on issues of war and peace — foreign and domestic.

Benefits & Compensation
Win Without War offers a generous benefits package, including health, vision, and dental, unlimited paid vacation, cell phone reimbursement, an employee assistance program, and a retirement program (403b) with an up to 5% employer match after six months of employment. The position is full-time, classified as exempt, and is at-will. The salary is $58,250 annually. To ensure pay equity, the starting pay for this job is equal to the starting salary of others at the same level throughout the organization. We do not negotiate salaries.

Hiring Timeline
We hope to begin interviews in late August and make a final decision and job offer by mid-to-late September, but our timeline may be subject to change throughout the process. Should significant delays arise, we will work to keep all candidates informed. The steps of this hiring process will include: initial application, 30-minute phone interview, skills test, at least one 60-minute Zoom interview, and a minimum of two reference checks. We anticipate a start date on or around October 15, 2026.
