Description
ASARCO LLC seeks an Economic Project Specialist for its Sahuarita, AZ location. The Economic Project Specialist will work closely with the General Manager to streamline administrative functions, ensure operational efficiency, and foster communication between departments. With an understanding of the mining industry's unique challenges and opportunities, the Economic Project Specialist will play a pivotal role in driving strategic initiatives and optimizing the General Manager's productivity. Strategic Support: Assist the General Manager in setting strategic goals and operational plans. Monitor the implementation of strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with company objectives. Conduct research and analysis to aid decision-making on operational and strategic issues. Administrative Support: Manage the General Manager's calendar, prioritize meeting requests, and ensure timely communication.
Requirements: Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Business Administration, Mining Engineering, or related field and 1 year of experience in the job offered or in a financial accounting role in the mining industry.
Position requires the following:
- MS Office Suite and Excel, including pivot tables, macros, and VBA scripting;
- Business Process Modeling Software Visio or Lucid chart;
- Data Analytics and Visualization Tools MS Power BI or Tableau;
- Project Management Software Microsoft Project or Smartsheet;
- ERP systems, such as SAP or Oracle;
- UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group) and Avetta;
- SQL for data analysis; and
- Financial modeling and valuation to support strategic decision-making.
