Puzo Law is a boutique South Florida firm focused primarily on family law, with a growing estate planning practice. We are seeking a seasoned family law litigator who values high professional standards, warm client service, and the opportunity to lead matters with meaningful courtroom responsibility.
Compensation and Work Model
- Salary: $130,000–$200,000/year (commensurate with experience and overall fit), plus performance-based bonus opportunities.
- In-office presence is strongly preferred. Hybrid scheduling is available (minimum 3 days per week in-office).

Primary Responsibilities
- Manage approximately 30–50 active family law matters with a litigation-forward scope.
- Serve as primary attorney and strategic decision-maker on assigned cases, with clear ownership of pacing, deadlines, and client expectations.
- Prepare for and appear at hearings and contested proceedings; handle emergency and time-sensitive issues with composure and clarity.
- Take and defend depositions; prepare clients and witnesses thoroughly.Lead mediations with a settlement-minded, trial-ready approach.
- Prepare for and conduct trials and evidentiary hearings when necessary, including case themes, witness outlines, exhibits, and trial logistics.
- Draft and review pleadings, motions, memoranda, and proposed orders with precision.
- Drive discovery strategy, including drafting requests, analyzing responses, addressing deficiencies, and pursuing compliance as appropriate.
- Draft, negotiate, and finalize settlement agreements and related instruments with careful attention to detail and enforceability.
- Maintain consistent, client-ready communication that is firm, empathetic, and clear, particularly in high-emotion situations.
- Use firm systems for tasking, calendaring, time entry, and document management to ensure matters remain organized and current.
- Lead and mentor a pod (typically 1–2 paralegals/legal assistants) through delegation, coaching, and consistent standards.
- Collaborate with colleagues on complex issues and litigation strategy.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of templates, workflows, and best practices.
- Participate in business development, referral relationships, and community initiatives if interested (encouraged, not required).
Location & Work Model
The firm is located in Hollywood, FL. We strongly prefer in-office presence to support collaboration, client experience, pod leadership, and court preparation. Hybrid/remote scheduling is available, with a minimum of 3 days per week in-office.
Court appearances are primarily in Broward, Miami-Dade, and Palm Beach. Occasional appearances in other South Florida counties (including Monroe and Collier) may be required. Travel related to court appearances is reimbursed.

Requirements
Qualifications
- Florida Bar member in good standing.
- Minimum of 5 years of Florida family law practice with substantial litigation responsibility in contested matters.
- Demonstrated courtroom responsibility (hearings and contested proceedings) and a trial-ready approach to case strategy.
- Strong legal writing, attention to detail, and sound strategic judgment.
- Professional composure under pressure and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Warm, client-ready communication style that is clear, empathetic, and direct.
- Ability to lead and mentor support staff with respect, clarity, and accountability.
- Comfort working within structured systems and documented processes, including practice management software and Microsoft 365.
Preferred Qualifications
- First-chair trial experience in contested family matters.
- Experience with high-conflict and high-net-worth divorce and custody disputes.
- Spanish fluency.
- Interest in mentorship, process improvement, or developing litigation best practices.
- Interest in business development, networking, leadership development.
