Rising Voices is a nonprofit organization that seeks to organize and develop the leadership of Asian American women, families and young people for power around progressive values and policy in the state of Michigan through community and cultural organizing, electoral engagement, and policy advocacy for a future where all families can thrive.
We envision a state and communities where our families have access to just economic policies, in-language support, affordable and culturally competent healthcare, inclusive education, welcome for immigrants, advocacy for workers, policy representation and accountability for our electeds. Our theory of change includes multiple strategies for power that serve to develop leadership within Asian American communities that will move local state and federal progressive policy and help elect progressive candidates to champion those issues.

Job Summary
The Field Manager is responsible for supervising the day to day execution of voter outreach programs for the organization and assisting the Policy and Political Director in developing strategy to harness the grassroots power of the Asian American vote in Michigan. The manager is responsible for leading volunteer canvassing and Poll Challenger efforts, assisting with Rising Voices’ relational organizing programs (Community Captain and Vote Ambassador programs), and ensuring quality data collection for outreach efforts. The Field Manager reports directly to the Policy and Political Director. The work will be 50% outdoors and require frequent travel. This role is estimated to end on or around November 29, 2026.

Volunteer Management
Recruit and train volunteers for Poll Challenger program for Early Voting and Election Day voting sites to ensure a secure and accessible pro-voter voting experience
Plan, set up and lead volunteer canvass events with Rising Voices community members
Plan, set up and lead joint canvass events with partner organizations
Relational Organizing Program Support
Assist Policy and Political Director in overseeing relational organizing programs (Community Captains and Voter Ambassadors)
Assist relational organizers with planning and execution of community and volunteer events centered around voting
Data & Quality Control
Monitor and manage vended canvassing efforts to ensure that benchmarks are being met
Create and maintain systems for clear and accurate canvass data collection
Quality check data that is collected from community outreach programs, including but not limited to data from: vended canvass program, volunteer canvass program, and relational organizing programs.
Create quantitative reports for canvass, relational organizing and Poll Challenger programs
Physical Demands
Occasionally required to lift and move office supplies or equipment (up to 25 pounds).
Participation in event logistics. Event logistics may require physical tasks such as lifting and carrying materials or equipment (up to 25 pounds), setting up tables and chairs, bending or crouching to arrange supplies, standing for up to 30 minutes, and moving throughout event spaces during setup and cleanup.
Must be able to work on a computer, including sitting at a desk for extended periods of time, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Must be able to understand and follow oral and written instruction.
