Bring your financial expertise to the community and join us as a Grants Accounting Officer!
The Grants Accounting Officer provides fiscal management and oversight of grants lifecycle for all grant-funded projects in accordance with NC General Statutes, County policies and grant agreements.
This position, in collaboration with the County’s Grants Team, supports the full lifecycle of grant administration, including development and updates of grant-related policies and procedures, employee training and technical assistance and audit assistance to County departments and programs as needed.
The Essential functions for the Grants Accounting Officer position include:
- Oversee grant administration, including guiding and assisting departments in the development of grant budgets, fiscal and accounting oversight, revenue tracking and financial report review
- Reviews all grants accounting on a quarterly basis to ensure reconciliation of general ledger and reporting
- Prepares the annual Schedule of Expenditures of Federal & State Awards (SEFSA) and work with external auditors to provide documentation requested on Single Audit grant requests
- Provides technical assistance with grant accounting support to departments in the accounting system
- Serves as grants administrator on county wide grants
- Assists in the development and maintenance of County wide grants policies

- Thorough knowledge of applicable County, State, and Federal policies, including government and foundation grant requirements and grant administration

Employment Type: Regular
Work Schedule: Mon - Fri 8:30 am - 5:15 pm
Hiring Range: 80,000 - 100,000
Market Range: 76,986.00 - 138,582.00

Requirements
The Basics (Required Education and Experience)
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or related field
- Three years of experience in accounting, finance and/or grant management
- Equivalent education and experience are accepted

Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience)
Two (2) years of grants accounting or grants management experience
