Overview
As a Senior Transportation Project Manager, you will provide leadership and strategic direction for the successful delivery of complex, multidisciplinary municipal infrastructure projects. You will oversee diverse project teams and serve as a trusted advisor to municipal clients, ensuring high-quality, community-focused solutions that enhance mobility, safety, and public infrastructure. This role blends technical expertise, client engagement, business development, and team leadership across a variety of transportation disciplines, including roadway, traffic, drainage, and structures.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage complex municipal transportation and public infrastructure projects from planning and design through construction, ensuring technical excellence, regulatory compliance, and financial performance.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for municipal clients, developing and maintaining strong relationships with city staff, public agencies, and stakeholders to support long-term partnerships and repeat business.
- Oversee project scopes, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation across multiple disciplines, ensuring efficient delivery aligned with municipal priorities and funding requirements.
- Guide multidisciplinary teams in the development of integrated solutions across roadway design, traffic operations, stormwater systems, and structural elements.
- Provide leadership in risk management, quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC), and constructability reviews to deliver practical, cost-effective solutions tailored to municipal environments.
- Mentor and develop project managers, engineers, and planners, fostering a collaborative culture and supporting professional growth across technical disciplines.
- Support business development efforts, including leading proposal development, client presentations, and strategic pursuits with municipalities, counties, and local agencies.
- Collaborate with practice leaders and regional management to align project delivery with organizational goals, growth strategies, and evolving municipal infrastructure needs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related engineering discipline required (master's degree preferred).
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Oklahoma
- 10+ years of progressive experience in municipal infrastructure and transportation projects, with a focus on one or more disciplines such as roadway, traffic, drainage, or structural design.
- Minimum of 5 years in a project management or leadership role, overseeing multidisciplinary teams and complex municipal projects.
- Demonstrated success managing large-scale municipal infrastructure projects, delivering high-quality results on time and within budget.
- Established relationships with municipalities, counties, and local agencies within Oklahoma; familiarity with local standards, funding mechanisms, and permitting processes.
- Proven experience in business development, including leading proposals, client presentations, and successfully winning and delivering municipal projects.
- Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills, with a history of mentoring staff and fostering a collaborative, high-performing environment.
