AttainX seeks an experienced Vice President, Finance & Accounting to provide strategic leadership and executive oversight across all accounting, finance, treasury, payroll, compliance, and financial operations functions. This is a hands-on executive leadership role responsible for directing and overseeing all accounting and financial operations within a Federal Government contracting environment. This role serves as the organization's senior financial leader and is responsible for ensuring financial integrity, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and alignment with corporate growth objectives in a Federal Government contracting environment.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on executive with deep expertise supporting government contractors and demonstrated success leading complex financial operations, audits, compliance initiatives, and growth strategies.
Required Qualifications
Required
- Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
- 10+ years progressive finance and accounting leadership experience.
- 8+ years leading accounting and finance teams.
- 7+ years supporting Federal Government contractors in a senior finance role.
- Deep expertise in:
- DCAA compliance and audit readiness
- FAR and CAS regulations
- Government contract accounting
- Indirect rates and cost allocation methodologies
- Incurred Cost Submissions (ICS)
- Forward Pricing Rate Proposals (FPRP)
- Federal contract financial compliance
- Experience managing multi-million-dollar budgets, treasury functions, and forecasting.
- Experience supporting prime and subcontractor financial operations.
- M&A, joint venture, and strategic partnership experience.
- Experience with government contractor accounting systems (QuickBooks Enterprise, Unanet, Costpoint, Deltek, etc.).
Preferred
- CPA accreditation strongly preferred.
- Experience with GSA Schedule administration.
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now.
Key Responsibilities
Executive Leadership & Strategy
- Serve as the senior financial advisor to executive leadership regarding financial performance, risk management, growth strategy, and operational planning.
- Develop and execute financial strategies aligned to corporate objectives and long-term business growth.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and executive reporting activities.
- Establish financial policies, governance frameworks, and performance metrics.
Accounting & Financial Operations
- Oversee all accounting operations including AP, AR, payroll, treasury, financial reporting, and general ledger functions.
- Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
- Maintain strong internal controls and financial governance processes.
- Manage cash flow, liquidity planning, and working capital strategy.
Government Contract Compliance & Audit Management
- Provide executive oversight for all government contract financial compliance activities.
- Ensure compliance with FAR, CAS, DCAA requirements, and agency-specific regulations.
- Lead incurred cost submissions, indirect rate development, forward pricing activities, and audit readiness initiatives.
- Oversee GSA Schedule compliance, pricing administration, and audit support activities.
- Maintain compliant accounting systems and processes supporting federal contracting requirements.
Strategic Growth & Corporate Development
- Support mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships.
- Conduct financial due diligence and risk assessments for growth initiatives.
- Support financing strategies, capital planning, and business expansion efforts.
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead and mentor finance and accounting teams while fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
- Drive recruiting, workforce planning, succession planning, and employee development initiatives.
